I spent my career as an executive in leadership coaching and corporate workforce development — helping people and teams make sense of complicated situations and move forward with confidence. It's the same skill, applied to a different problem: the mortgage process.
I remember my own first home purchase clearly. I wasn't a participant — I was a passenger. I signed what I was told to sign and initialed what I was told to initial, and I didn't fully understand what any of it meant until long after closing. I saw an opportunity to apply my skillset to a process that brings a lot of stress and confusion to many.
As your mortgage advisor, my job isn't just to get your loan approved — it's to make sure you understand every part of how it got there. That means plain-language explanations instead of industry shorthand, answers before you have to ask the question twice, and a process where you always know what's happening and why.
Home, For Me
None of this works without the people I come home to. My wife, Sherry, and I have been married more than 34 years, and we've built our life in Greenville, South Carolina, surrounded by family — our daughters, their husbands, and our grandchildren are all close by, which means family dinners, vacations, and grandkid outings happen often. We're also proud "Dis-nerds" — frequent enough visitors to Disney World that the grandkids probably know the parks better than their own backyard.
Sherry and I are also, unapologetically, wine people. Weekends often take us into the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia chasing good vineyards, and we've made the trip to Sonoma and Napa, and up to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada. Italy is next — we're already planning a wine trip there for 2027.
The two of us make time for our own traditions, too — a recent fascination with mahjong, and a dance floor whenever we can find one for East Coast Swing or Shag. We're both Myrtle Beach natives, so shagging is about as close to hometown pride as it gets.
Between the family, the wine, and the dance floor, I've had plenty of practice paying attention to the details that make something worth doing right. I bring that same attention to your loan.
